My father's uncle, Dykes C. Doddridge, was a self-proclaimed "Family Historian" who performed extensive research into the Doddridge family name. He seemed to enjoy his study of genealogy, and willingly shared his results with as many people as possible. He is somewhat of an inspiration to me, and after reading his works I'd like to carry on his tradition of sharing with everyone the history and genealogy of the Doddridge Family.

I am still in the process of scanning and transcribing several of his works, as well as the works of several others that relate to the Doddridge Family lineage. Sometime in the future, as I have time, I will also begin my own research projects into the origins of the Doddridges, picking up in places where Dykes was not able to complete.
